What goes in — and what doesn't.
We started Aura & Arco because we were tired of beauty brands that wouldn't tell us what was actually in the bottle. Here's the short version of our philosophy.
What we use
- Manuka honey, propolis, shea, squalane. Naturally derived humectants and emollients that the skin actually recognizes.
- Niacinamide, panthenol (B5), hyaluronic acid, zinc PCA. Actives with decades of peer-reviewed research behind them — not trend ingredients.
- Centella asiatica, ceramides, oat. Calming, barrier-supporting plant compounds for cleansers and serums.
- Faux mink and synthetic fibers for our lashes — soft, lightweight, and cruelty-free.
- 100% natural rose quartz for our tools, sourced from artisan stone workshops.
What we don't use
- Parabens
- Synthetic fragrance
- Phthalates
- SLS / SLES (sulfates)
- Formaldehyde releasers
- Mineral oil & petrolatum
- Glitter (in lip products)
- Animal-derived ingredients
- Animal testing — ever. We're Leaping Bunny aligned.
How we test
Every batch is tested by our four-person team on our own skin first. We never test on animals, and we don't ship a product until we've worn it daily for at least three weeks. If we don't love it, we don't sell it.
How we source
Our active ingredients come from a short list of suppliers we've vetted personally. Honey from licensed Manuka cooperatives. Rose quartz from artisan-owned workshops. Lash fibers from a Korean lab that supplies premium beauty brands.
